GLENNON BROTHERS SELECTED AS NATIONAL CHAMPION AT THE EUROPEAN BUSINESS AWARDS

The European Business Awards has announced that Glennon Brothers has been selected as a National Champion for Ireland in the prestigious 2012/13 Awards programme. The award was presented by the British Ambassador to Ireland, Mr. Dominick Chilcott and Mr. Aidan Scollard of RSM Farrell Grant Sparks, at a reception in the Ambassador’s residence. Glennon Brothers will now compete for the coveted Ruban D’Honneur status in the next round of the competition.

This year, for the first time ever, entrants in the European Business Awards submitted a video case study, and an online voting mechanism allowed the public to choose their favourite video in each country.

Our company has undergone enormous change over the past few years, with the catastrophic collapse of the Irish construction sector. As we strive to continue to develop our business, it is essential that we have continuity of raw material supply. Glennon Brothers is very concerned about the impact of the proposed sale of Coillte’s harvesting rights, as they supply over 80% of the logs to the sawmills in the Republic of Ireland.”

Between now  and January 2013, National Champions will be reassessed by a third panel of judges made up of Europe-wide business leaders, academics and entrepreneurs who will award the top organisations the coveted Ruban d’Honneur status. Finally, after face-to-face presentations, the Ruban d’Honneur recipients will be honoured and the names of the overall winners will be revealed at a Gala awards ceremony in April 2013.
